TIME LINE

Sandra Cepeda was born in 1980 in Mexico City, Federal District. After the 1985 earthquake, her family moved to the north of the country, where she studied and explored her creative production.

He spends his childhood exploring mathematical puzzles with his father, painting and playing with modeling clay, forming miniature cities, with considerable reluctance towards dolls. 

Painting and art have always been part of her life from an early age, the first solo exhibition of the 41 she has had until 2018, was at 18 years of age. 

She studied Architecture, museography and curatorship in Mexico, Spain and the United States. 

Her first exhibition in New York was in 2006, with an installation of "ready to wear" painted shoes in conjunction with pictorial pieces.

In 2010, it became part of her first international collection, part of the Christie’s auction house, in 2013 he exhibited in Japan and Brazil. 

In 2013, she began the process of curatorial works for other artists and explored installations in museums and in public areas.

In 2016 she was selected with an installation for peace at the Brussels Fair. Until 2018 it has 41 exhibitions. 

Painting from the series 3:33 portal that was exposed in the Mexican Stock Exchange in 2012 and later in Tokyo, Japan and Paris, France. 

In 2013 she moved to Mérida, Yucatán where she explored the over-creation of her painting, making fabrics, chews and bags from patterns created by works from previous years. 

Surrealist structures and painting by Leonora Carrington or the Xilitla Garden, dream games and dreamy worlds have been vital in her life and creation as a person and as an artist.   

From 2012 to 2017 she has exhibited in more than 18 Boutique hotels throughout Mexico, making performances and a unique development by merging the architecture of the hotels with their pieces. 

In 2017 she explores the closeness with gold by making a special collection for a private Collection in France that was exhibited in Mexico, this was the beginning of the manipulation of gold.

In 2013, she created the Gran Espejo: Art, Design and Culture Platform in 2018. The Mentor Platform: online classes, focused on pragmatism and creativity.

In 2016, the first waxes and the first collection of what would be in 2017 the Joya de arte brand.

Sandra Cepeda continues to paint, creating pieces for her jewelry brand and growing over Natgeo and for television producers.
